Did you know that Tom’s new photographic collection – Light Waves – has just been published?

If you are a Making Light club member and would like a copy of this beautiful wee book, today is your last chance to buy it with your club discount. And I wanted to mention that your club discount is also valid for the gorgeous new series of art prints that Tom has produced to accompany his Light Waves project.

These 10 images are Tom’s own personal favourites from the project.

Tom’s studio here at the mill (a rather different work space to mine) contains a large pro-graf machine which enables him to create professional giclée prints of his favourite images.

Each print is created individually by Tom using Canon Lucia pro pigment ink on archival paper.

The paper Tom uses is matt, gallery-quality (ie, used to display work in art galleries) and 100% acid free (to ensure image quality and longevity).

Each image is reproduced on A3 paper – that’s approximately 29 x43 cm or 11½ x 16½ in . . .

. . . and is printed with a border to facilitate mounting and framing.

Tom makes just 25 A3 prints of each image in this series (in a strictly limited edition) . . .

. . . and embosses, signs and numbers every print he makes.

One of the many joys of moving to a mill with lots of wall space is that I’ve been able to hang Tom’s framed artwork – celebrating the sea that surrounds us – on the walls of our new home (I promise to show you how great this looks at some point!). And if you’d also like to celebrate the marvellous light and colour of the sea indoors, head over to the KDD shop and pick up an Ootlier Light Waves print!
